Even Jordan Hill of the Lakers appreciated Parker’s crossover.
I get a lot of ideas from reading sports articles. I think ‘hey I could do that’ but then I start to think about how I would write it. And then I think about the need to have the right tone, the research needed, the right length, being grammatically correct, etc.
And in my head I have these, what I think, are solid comments on current sports issues but then I try playing it out on paper and it becomes:
“something David Stern manipulation, Chris Paul, Lakers, Veto, Power, Seattle, Sacramento, Big Market, Small Market, Maloofs, Clay Bennett heading up NBA relocation committee, teaching a lesson, stadiums…”
It’s a jumble. I know that if somehow I could organize my thoughts in a streamlined, coherent thought, I could be a decent writer. As it is, I’ll just wait for Bill Simmons to write it better.
Bobby Knight might have hit Bourbon Street a little too hard the night before…
Rubio’s Adjustment
“These guys, they travel around the world. They’re more cultured than we are. Everyone acts like Americans are the ones… we have sort of an arrogance about us. Like we’re the cultured ones? Are you serious?”
“Have you watched TV lately? Have you seen what Americans do? How many languages do you speak? And you wonder how they’re going to adjust to our culture? I hope they avoid it and keep their own!”
